This south-facing, bright and sun-filled cottage on beautiful Bitter Lake is a perfect spot to get away with your family.
Windows fill the south wall of the cathedral-ceilinged living room, and it opens to a large 16x16 sq ft. deck. The kitchen has pine cabinetry and a dining area. Two bedrooms and a 4-piece bathroom make up the rest of the main floor. The upper level has a small loft landing leading to the master bedroom. There’s lots of room in the spacious lower level rec room with a walkout to the lake. A 4th bedroom and 2-piece bath finish off the lower level.
In the cottage there are beds to accommodate eight (8) people in four (4) bedrooms ; the loft bedroom has a Queen size bed; one main floor bedroom as a Queen size bed; the second main floor bedroom has a bunkbed (lower bunk is a double), and the basement bedroom has a Queen size bed. There is also a pullout couch in the basement.
The dock provides excellent swimming, with gradual shoreline water entry for the little ones. A shoreline deck is available for shade; a perfect spot for supervising kids while they are swimming. The clean, clear spring-fed waters of Bitter Lake boast excellent small mouth bass and lake trout fishing. Two kayaks, a paddleboat and a canoe are provided for your use. A firepit and seating area provide a great spot for evening relaxation.
The Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve (9km drive) provides a myriad of interesting and challenging activities for young and old including: mountain bike trails, Wolf Centre, a ‘Walk in the Clouds’ tour, and observing the heavens at the Astronomy site.
